MXR Yngwie Malmsteen Overdrive

A Modern-day Maestro’s “More Is More” Dirt Box

Yngwie Malmsteen’s groundbreaking playing style masterfully fuses neoclassical prowess with the raw energy of rock ’n’ roll. The MXR Yngwie Malmsteen Overdrive is designed to ensure that both of these core elements shine through when it’s time to kick into high gear.

Working closely alongside Yngwie, the MXR design team created a circuit that delivers clarity, expressive dynamics, and rich harmonics—all perfectly tailored for his light-speed arpeggios, expressive vibrato, and big, bold riffs. The control setup is simple, with just Level and Gain knobs, but every adjustment you make will have a profound impact. Want to sound like Yngwie? Crank both knobs to the max.

The MXR Yngwie Malmsteen Overdrive will boost every nuance you impart with your laser-focused leads and gigantic riffs. Show off your rock ’n’ roll wizardry with the MXR Yngwie Malmsteen Overdrive.
